Steel giants, SAIL and JSW have compelled with sales pressure and decided to reduce Rebar prices by INR 500/MT and INR 1,000/MT respectively.
Primary Rebar producers such as SAIL and JSW Steel are facing sales pressure since last three months and have decided to decline their Rebar prices for Nov’14. Amid supply crunch of raw-material like Iron ore in the domestic market and low demand from the end-users, the primary steel producers are tussling with worst condition.
JSW Steel officials confirmed, “We are correcting Rebar (12 mm) prices by INR 1,000/MT and offering it at INR 42,500/MT (including Excise; VAT extra).”
Meanwhile, SAIL has reported, “We are declining Rebar prices by INR 500/MT for the current month on account of low sales in the market and offering it at INR 44,500/MT (Excise included, VAT extra).”
On the other hand, other primary Rebar manufacturers like Tata Steel, JSPL and RINL are yet to confirm their price change.
