India: Stainless steel scrap prices fall further on low demand

  • SteelMint’s assessment for domestic 304 grade stainless steel scrap prices fell by over 5% to INR 134,000/t ($1,695/t) ex-Delhi today as against prices on 28 June. The correction in import scrap prices and less demand pulled domestic market prices lower.
  • Notably, LME nickel three-month future prices have dropped by $676/t w-o-w. “A north India-based major producer has decreased 300 series finished coil prices by around INR 10,000/t ($126/t). The impact of it may reflect in the market in 1-2 days,” a source said.
