India: Maharashtra govt signs MoU to procure renewable energy

The Maharashtra government’s energy department has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Adani Green Energy Group (AGEL) to procure renewable energy. As per the agreement, AEGL would set up pumped storage projects that would generate 11,000 megawatt of renewable energy in the next four-five years. This would help the state to keep an alternate source on tap for immediate power generation in case of shortage.
