India: SECL signs MoU to set up power plant in Madhya Pradesh

South Eastern Coalfields Ltd (SECL) has entered into power segment by signing a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Madhya Pradesh Power Generating Company (MPPGCL) to develop a 660 mega-watt (MW) coal-fired power plant. The new unit would be constructed near to the MPPGCL’s existing Amarkantak Thermal Power Station which is currently having a capacity of 210 MW. The project entails an investment of INR 4,665 crore, of which SECL’s share would be 70%.
