India: Thermal coal imports rise sharply by 66% during 1-15 June

Amid the ongoing domestic supply crunch, India’s thermal coal imports have risen by a whopping 66% m-o-m to 1 mnt during the first two weeks of this month (1-15 June), CoalMint vessel line-up data revealed. Shipments from Indonesia were the highest at 7.5 mnt, followed by South Africa at 1.3 mnt. Imports from Australia and Russia also recorded a sharp rise to 0.6 mnt and 0.3 mnt, respectively.
