Germany: Thyssenkrupp plans to achieve carbon neutrality by 2045

Thyssenkrupp plans to achieve carbon neutrality by CY’45 and subsequently shut its four blast furnaces (BF) based on the ‘H2 Stahl’ project. As soon as the DRI production line is completed at the Duisburg plant in CY’25, the company plans to stop production at BF 1 (crude steel capacity of 1.2 mnt). After the DRI line is installed, BF 2 and other furnaces will be stopped by CY’30 and CY’45.
