A group of indigenous Peruvian communities on 9 Jun’22 agreed to temporarily lift the protest against MMG Ltd’s Las Bambas copper mine that forced the company to halt operations for more than 50 days, one of the longest in the mine’s history. MMG said it expects production at the site and concentrate transport to recommence on 11 Jun, although coming back to full capacity will take days.
