USA: Ferrous scrap exports up nearly 30%, m-o-m, in April

US ferrous scrap exports surged 29%, m-o-m, to 1.64 mnt in Apr’22 as against 1.27 mnt in Mar, as per customs data.
Mexico was the top importer at 440,000 t, followed by Turkey and Taiwan at 430,000 t 140,000 t, respectively.
On a year-on-year (y-o-y) basis, export volumes increased by 2% compared with 1.61 mnt in Apr’21.
