Raipur-based steel wire rod manufacturers saw lack of trade enquiries and transactions over the last couple of days which compelled them to reduce prices today by INR 1,000/t d-o-d to INR 49,000/t exw. That apart, weak market sentiments in semi-finished steel led to trading activity remaining dull, which put pressure on the suppliers to hike discounts offered at INR 1,000-1,200/t.
