With reduced demand from western countries, Russian coal is reportedly being offered at lower rates to Indian buyers. A few offers for 5500 kcal/kg NAR grade coal were heard at $215/t CFR east coast India – cheaper by $25/t and $20/t compared to South African and Australian coal, respectively. Indian cement producers are heard to be especially keen on booking Russian coal.
