Bhubaneswar: The
Odisha government along with the Indian Bureau of Mines (IBM) have agreed to
sign an MoU to implement the Mining Tenement System (MTS) for efficient
management of the mining sector of the state. The state government has already
authorized the Director of Mines to sign the MoU with Mr. M. Biswas, the regional
controller of mines of IBM.
According to
government sources, “the objective of MTS is to enable the process of management
of data relating to areas for exploration and mining and increase efficiency in
regulation of grant and management of mineral concessions for holistic
development of mineral concessions of the nation including promoting
investments and optimum utilization of minerals.â€Â
In order to
oversee the development and implementation of the process the union mines
ministry has already constituted a core group.
