KJS ahluwalia, one of the largest merchant miner with an annual production of over 5 million tonnes per annum based in Odisha has raised its iron ore lumps and fines prices by Rs 300 and Rs 200 per tonne respectively. Mines have recently started production after it was stopped on violating environmental norms since October 2012.
Sources say prices have been raised on improved demand and short supply of iron ore in the state as some big mines are yet to start operations. Other miners might consider increase in prices very soon.
