- Global primary alumina production fell by 2.73% m-o-m in April 2022 to 11.06 mnt against 11.37 mnt in March, as per International Aluminium Institute (IAI) data.
- China was the largest producer with an estimated 6.08 mnt, accounting for 55% of the global production.
- The combined production of Asia (excluding China) and Africa stood at 1.18 mnt in April, a growth of around 8% compared to 1.09 mnt in the previous month.
