China’s thermal coal imports up by 74% m-o-m in April 2022

Customs data shows that China’s thermal coal imports in April rose by 74% m-o-m at 3.25 mnt. However, on a y-o-y basis, the same came down by 48%. This year China had imported lesser thermal coal due to resurgence of COVID-led restrictions and increased domestic supplies that have gone up by 8% in first three months of 2022.
