Daily coal volumes being transported by China’s Daiqin Railway have increased again to 1.3 mnt this month after its spring maintenance works. With increasing volumes being transported, thermal coal prices in China are likely to come under pressure. Domestic 5500 kcal/kg NAR coal was assessed at RMB 912/t ($137/t) today. Coal railings to Qinhuangdao Port rose to almost 600,000 t on 23 May as against 400,000 t earlier.
