In the third week of May’22, auto component producers in northern and western India held multiple auctions of mild steel melting scrap. A Uttarakhand-based auto parts producer conducted an auction for around 400 t of auto end-cutting scrap that fetched bids of around INR 47,000/t ex works.In the second week, the same material brought bids of around INR 4,9000/t.
