India: OMC issued Notice for National E-auction of Iron & Chrome Ore

OMC has issued notice for national e-auction of Iron ore, Chrome ore and Chrome Concentrate in Odisha.

Odisha Mining Corporation (OMC) has decided to sale Iron ore, Chrome ore and Chrome Concentrate through national e-auction, which will be conducted by MSTC. The company will sell its saleable stock that’s 50% of Iron ore, while, 30% of Chrome ore and Chrome Concentrate.

The interested buyers, who will be enlisted with OMC, can only participate in the auction. The enlistment process will be open for all. The previous enlisted buyers shall not be taken into cognizance.

Material will be auctioned through mines namely Barpada – Kasia Gandhamardan Daitari, Kurmitar.

Eligibility Criteria

1. Iron ore

• State based Steel plants, whose MoU for long-term linkage has been established
• Odisha & outside Odisha based Steel, Sponge iron and Pig iron plants
• Lease holder will not be allowed
• Traders (for Iron ore fines) and state based crusher units

2. Chrome Ore (Lumps/Chips/Fines) and Chrome Concentrate

• State based Ferro chrome plants, whose long-term linkage has been established
• Any Ferro chrome units/Steel plant having Ferro chrome units (without Chromite mining lease) and Odisha based COB plants for Chrome ore fines of (-) 40% Cr₂O₃ grade
• Lease holder will not be allowed

 Note: MSTC will communicate all the upcoming auctions’ date & time with enlisted buyers.
