China: Iron ore spot prices rise as demand for medium-grade fines remains strong

The spot price of iron ore in China increased on 17 May’22 as demand for medium-grade fines remained strong. Benchmark Fe 62% fines prices increased by $2.8/t to $130.15/t CFR China. Most sources, however, continued to see a decline in demand for high-grade fines as high-grade raw materials have fallen out of favour due to poor steel margins.
