Iran’s domestic billet and rebar prices increased sharply before the announcement of the power shortage. The Iranian government is expected to officially announce some remedial measures soon. However, as per sources, power curbs most probably begin from 22 May.
- Steel billet prices rose sharply by 4,000 Rial/Kg to 163,000 Rial/Kg against the closing on 11 May.
- Rebar prices stood at 183,000 Rial/Kg on 16 May, a sharp rise of 4,000 Rial/Kg.
