Indonesia: Thermal coal prices rise amid strong ex-China demand

After remaining largely stable in the last three weeks, Indonesian high-CV thermal coal prices rose by $6/t w-o-w to $277/t amid strong demand from global markets despite sanctions on Russia. Indian demand for mid-to-low CV grades remained robust amid the ongoing coal supply crunch. While inquiries from China remained weak due to the strict lockdown restrictions and rising shipments from Russia.
