- South Korea’s steel billets imports fell sharply by 47.05% m-o-m in April 2022 to 104,040 t from 196,480 t in March 2022, as per data recently released by customs.
- Japan was the largest exporter with 62,356 t, followed by Russia and Vietnam with 20,633 t and 10,672 t, respectively.
- However, import volumes rose sharply y-o-y by 52% from 442,596 t in January-April 2021 to reach 674,495 t in January-April 2022.
