- Tokyo Steel lowered scrap buying prices for the second time in a week. It reduced bids by JPY 1,000/t ($8/t) for all its steelworks, effective from 14 May.
- Post-revision, bid price for H2 scrap was set at JPY 62,000/t ($482/t) delivered to Tahara, while prices for Utsunomiya were at JPY 63,000/t ($490/t).
- The inconclusive Kanto scrap export tender continued to pressurise the domestic scrap prices.
