Melting scrap prices fell in most regional markets on 10 May’22. Lack of buying enquiries for finished steel put pressure on semi-finished steel prices, which ultimately impacted sponge iron and scrap prices. Basic grade pig iron prices declined in a recent auction by RINL. A minor correction in scrap prices may be expected in the near term, as per sources.
