Shipbreaking melting scrap prices in Gujarat’s Alang declined by INR 500/t d-o-d, as per SteelMint assessment. HMS (80:20) prices are assessed at INR 48,500/t exy. Lack of purchase enquiries for scrap on higher prices along with limited trades in semis and in the finished steel market forced scrap suppliers to reduce offers in the spot market.
