SAIL conducted an auction for 900 t of silico manganese (Mn 52-57%, 0-3mm, 3-10mm) today from the Chandrapur Ferro Alloys Plant in Maharashtra. Only 100 t of silico manganese (Mn 53%,3-10 mm) were booked at INR 80,500/t exw, according to sources. As bidders anticipate further decline in silico manganese prices amid the downtrend of manganese alloys market and weak demand resulted in an underwhelming auction response, sources said.
