China: Coking coal prices fall $15/t on weak demand

Coking coal prices in Inner Mongolia fell by RMB 100/t ($15/t)w-o-w to RMB 2,600/t ($390/t) on 5 May’22. Prices fell amid weak demand from met coke producers as China’s steel sector continues to remain bearish amid COVID-19 restrictions. In fact, met coke prices have fallen marginally ex-Changzhi (quasi) by RMB 40/t ($6/t) and are assessed at RMB 3,760/t ($563/t).
