Coal India Ltd (CIL) has recorded coal loading at an average of 275.8 rakes/day in Apr’22, down 6% m-o-m from 294.8 rakes/day in Mar’22. The supplies also registered a marginal drop y-o-y against 276.8 in Apr’21. Logistic constraints pertaining to lack of rake availability has been a major drawback due to which coal companies are struggling to raise power plant coal inventory amid soaring power demand. As on 3 May’22, the coal stock was assessed at 21.7 mnt, down 14% m-o-m.
