Billet comprises the largest share in 33 MnT of India's annual long steel production.
NINL is hopeful that its Billet will have good demand for specialized uses as SAIL and Visa Steel are in talks to purchase the entire quantity of Billet from NINL.
As of now, Billet and Pig iron output would be in equal quantity.
It is to later produce 90 MnT of Billet and rest of Pig iron out of its 1.1 MnT of total crude steel production.
The former is used in spring steel, gears for automobile, construction sector, automobile parts and making of pump shafts.
