Polish coking coal mining company, Jastrzebska Spolka Weglowa (JSW) has declared force majeure following the accidents at its Pniowek and Zofiowka mines last month. The company expects its coal output to be reduced by 400,000 t from its annual coking coal production capacity of 11 mnt. This would increase coking coal supply tightness in Europe, as Russian exports to Europe are banned from August.
