India: Melting scrap prices soften on limited transactions

Melting scrap prices fell across markets on 4 May 2022. The key factors behind falling scrap prices are limited demand in semi-finished and finished steel products amidst price cuts by blast furnace-route mills. Meanwhile, imported scrap prices for Middle East-origin HMS (80:20) are hovering in the range of $550-555/t CNF Nhava Sheva Port, thus, making imports viable.
