India: Coal prices rise on supply shortage in Bilaspur, Chhattisgarh

Coal prices in Bilaspur, Chhattisgarh, have increased of late, as per CoalMint assessment. Prices for 4500 kcal/kg GCV grade run of mine (ROM) coal were assessed at INR 13,500/t today, up by INR 225/t d-o-d, while 5000 kcal/kg GCV ROM coal prices stood at INR 15,000/t, up 250/t. Prices rose due to limited supplies by CIL subsidiary SECL and many small traders have no coal left for supplies.
