With recent cut of 7% in Iron Ore prices by NMDC, state run and largest iron ore producer in India, have made landed cost of CLO (5-18mm) cheaper than other private miners based in Odisha to steel units in Chhattisgarh, said manufacturers.
“Current landed cost of CLO (5-18mm) of grade Fe 64/63 from NMDC (Chhattisgarh) will now cost us around Rs 7,600/t (incld royalty) whereas almost same grade of material from Odisha will cost us around Rs 7,600-8,000/t (Incld Royalty).
We are sure many sponge and steel units based in Chhattisgarh will start sourcing iron ore lumps from NMDC now”, said Mr. Agarwal, a sponge iron manufacturer based in Raipur.
