Global lead demand likely to increase by nearly 2%, y-o-y, in CY’22 – ILZSG

The International Lead & Zinc Study Group (ILZSG) has forecast in a recent study that the world’s lead metal usage is likely to increase by 1.7% to 12.42 mnt in 2022 as against 12.21 mnt in 2021. In 2022, ILZSG expects gradual improvement in mining and metal production by 2.9% and 1.3% respectively. Mined lead production was recorded at 4.58 mnt in 2021 while metal production stood at 12.27 mnt.
