- Japan’s iron ore imports (including pellets) fell marginally by 3.65% in Mar’22 to 8.43 mnt compared with 8.75 mnt in Feb’22, as per data released by customs.
- Australia was the largest exporter with 5.10 mnt, followed by Brazil and South Africa with 2.96 mnt and 0.25 mnt, respectively.
- However, import volumes increased slightly by 2% y-o-y to 26.85 mnt in Jan-Mar’22 as against 26.21 mnt in the same period last year.
