Shipbreaking melting scrap prices in Gujarat’s Alang declined by INR 500/t d-o-d, as per SteelMint assessment. HMS (80:20) prices are assessed at INR 48,500/t exy. Scrap prices decreased due to the lack of trading in semi-finished steel and also limited procurement from the IF mills based at Bhavnagar due to prevailing high prices. This led to scrap suppliers reducing offers.
