China’s crude steel production stood at 243.38 mnt in Q1CY22, down by 10.5% against 271.03 mnt in the corresponding period last year, as per National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) data. Production restrictions due to Covid coupled with Beijing’s Winter Olympics during the period resulted in fall in production.
In March 2022, production stood at 88.3 mnt, down by 6% versus 94.02 mnt in March 2021.
