Karnataka-based Kalyani Steels is looking to import coking coal from Australia in the coming months. The company used to buy coke from the domestic merchant market but is now opting to import coking coal as it plans to start its 0.2 mnt per annum coke unit by Jul’22. The company’s coke requirement for the next two months will be covered by imported met coke from China.
