China: NDRC approves 15 mnt/year mega coal mine in Inner Mongolia

In a bid to boost coal production, China’s state planner NDRC has approved a mega coal mine in Inner Mongolia. Lianhai Coal Industry Ltd. has received the license to operate the Baijiahaize mine with a production capacity of 15 mnt/annum of low-ash high-CV thermal coal. China plans to expand coal output capacity by 300 mnt/year in 2022 to maintain daily output above 12.6 mnt.
