Indian billet manufacturers and exporters have kept their offers stable at around $570/t FOB to rolling mills located in Nepal, confirmed local sources.
“We are getting offers from Indian sellers at around $535/t (Ex-plant, Jharsugda) and around $570/t (FOB Raksol Border in India). Steel demand has not been great in Nepal.” said a re-roller based in Birganj, Nepal.
There is an import duty of 5% on importing billets, 30% on importing re-bar and 15% on structural products, he further added.
On offers from SAIL, he said, ” SAIL prices are generally higher by $30-40/t than other private players.”
