Some Russia-China coal transactions in April to be settled in RMB – Sources

Amid sanctions imposed by the western countries on Moscow, a few coal shipments are to arrive in China from Russia in April, as per market sources. Chinese buyers are using the national currency, yuan, to settle payments. In 2021, Russia emerged as the second-largest coal supplier to China after the latter unofficially banned coal imports from Australia in Oct’20.
