Indonesia: Thermal coal prices fall slightly amid muted demand

Indonesian thermal coal prices fell slightly by $2/t w-o-w amid tepid demand from China following the Qingming holidays and ongoing lockdown restrictions. Prices of 5800 kcal/kg NAR coal, however, rose in line with global prices as the EU imposed fresh sanctions on Russia, resulting in a sharp rise in non-Russian coal sourcing among buyers in Europe and Asia. Production in Indonesia remained tight during the Ramadan month.
