India: Government to monetise HCL’s Gujarat Copper Project, land assets

The government has decided to monetise Hindustan Copper Ltd.’s (HCL) Gujarat Copper Project in Jhagadia and some land assets in the Indian Copper Complex (ICC) in Ghatshila, which can give the company extra liquidity required for mining expansion. The 50,000 t/year capacity smelting unit with a land asset of 74.2 acres would go for outright sale, whereas land assets measuring 16.96 acres of the ICC will be brought under the National Monetisation Pipeline.
