Shipbreaking melting scrap prices in Alang, Gujarat, fell further by INR 500/t d-o-d, as per SteelMint assessment. HMS (80:20) prices are assessed at INR 47,000/t exy. Prices have edged down by INR 1,500/t in the last four days on lower bids due to soft demand and paucity of buying enquiries for semis and finished steel. Scrap suppliers have reduced their offers in the spot market owing to weak sentiments.
