South Korea: Hyundai Steel books US-origin bulk scrap cargo

Major South Korean steelmaker Hyundai Steel has recently signed a contract for US origin scrap, as per a SteelDaily report.
The cargo contains 45,000 t of HMS 1 scrap, booked at a price of $625/t CFR. The material is expected to arrive in South Korea in May’22, SteelMint learnt from sources.
South Korea’s ferrous scrap imports in Feb stood at 0.37 mnt, rising by 19% m-o-m.
