Domestic coal prices in Bilaspur, Chhattisgarh, have increased by INR 500/t d-o-d in the open market. Prices for 4500 kcal/kg run of mine (ROM) coal were assessed at INR 15,250/t today, while 4000 kcal/kg ROM coal stood at INR 13,725/t. Prices rose on limited supplies by CIL subsidiary SECL in the region due to priority accorded to the power sector amid shortage of thermal coal at utilities.
