Goan government sold its first lot of 0.2 MnT Iron ore through 4th e-auction, in which total quantity was 3 MnT. The auction has to be held on 3 dates i.e. 19, 20 & 21 Aug, 2014. The second lot of 0.6 MnT will be put under hammer on 20 Aug, 2014 and third lot of around 2.2 MnT will be auction on 21 Aug, 2014.
“Total auction was for 197,000 MT, out of which 141,916 MT was Fermento’s cargo. Only few participants were interested in this auction. About 75% of total ore received bids and most of it was at base price,” said an exporter who participated in the auction.
He also mentioned that lower prices in the international market have kept exporters out of this auction.
Goan government has also announced its 5th e-auction for 2 MnT, which is going to be conducted in the first week of September.
