Japanese steel giant Nippon Steel has decided to raise heavy plate prices by JPY 10,000/t ($82/t) for domestic sales in April. Prices have spurted up by around JPY 70,000/t ($575/t) since Sept’20. Industry particpants opine that increased investment in the mining segment and recovery in construction sector activities shall remain the major drivers of plate demand.
