Shipbreaking melting scrap prices increased by INR 200/t in Alang today and HMS (80:20) prices are at INR 48,200/t exy. Scrap prices are on the rise on availability concerns, supplier sources informed SteelMint. However, weak spot trades in semi-finished steel during the last trading session and limited buying enquiries for scrap by the IF mills based in Bhavnagar due to high prices are expected to keep prices in check.
