Melting scrap prices in Gujarat’s Alang fell sharply by INR 700/t d-o-d, SteelMint assessment shows. HMS (80:20) prices are assessed at INR 47,500/t exy. Low demand and the lack of buying enquiries as well as dull trading in finished steel pushed prices lower. Scrap suppliers cut their offers in the spot market on prevailing weak sentiment.
