India: NMDC creates history with 40 mnt iron ore production

NMDC has become the first company in India to achieve 40 mnt/year iron ore production in the ongoing fiscal. From a production of 4mt in the late 1960s, NMDC’s growth has been exceptional. “NMDC’s achievement of becoming the first iron ore mining company in India to cross 40 mnt per annum is a display of its ability to accept challenges…we are on track to become a 100 mnt pa company by 2030”, said Sumit Deb, Chairman and Managing Director, NMDC.
